Clinical psychologists treat people with relatively serious kinds of psychological distress, like depression or anxiety disorders. They hold Master’s Degrees in Clinical Psychology and are registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa.
My work is predominantly psychodynamic in orientation. However, beyond this I am also trained and have experience in providing cognitive-behavioural and person-centred therapeutic assistance. Drawing on the scope of these approaches, I aim to collaboratively tailor each therapeutic relationship to my clients’ individual needs.
While I engage with the full range of issues affecting mental health and emotional- and relational well being for all individuals, I have a particular interest in working with children and teenagers in the context of their families.
In addition, I enjoy and focus on engaging with men and their often-overlooked struggles in a changing society.
I offer both long- and short-term psychotherapy in English and German.
