Hello, my name is Kim Abrahams. I am a therapist and internationally registered Social Worker. For the past 13 years I have been living and working in England, with my practice now being based in Cape Town. This international exposure has enabled me to provide a range of support and counselling services to children, parents and caregivers of diverse personalities, cultures, ethnicities, and backgrounds.
I have a special interest in supporting children, teens and adults who have experienced trauma, grief/loss, sexual abuse, anxiety/depression, social anxiety, parenting and family difficulties. When working with children, my primary way of working is utilising elements of play therapy. I also serve as an independent expert witness for the Department of Justice within my role as a private social worker.
Removing the stigma which is often attached to accessing mental health is very important to me and I regularly appear on the Expresso Morning Show (SABC 3) as a mental health/parenting expert, as well as contributing to a variety of print articles.
I provide a professional therapeutic environment which is welcoming and non-judgemental to all ages, races and genders. I am able to provide both online and face to face support.
