I am an Educational Psychologist and work with children, adolescents and parents. My work is divided into three major categories, namely, assessments, therapy and workshops.
Therapy: Both play therapy and adolescent therapy assists with a variety of emotional difficulties including anxiety, bullying, self-esteem, changes in behaviour, peer relationships and more.
Assessments: An assessment may assist in a variety of situations such as determining a child’s readiness for Grade one, their strengths and weaknesses in relation to cognitive and scholastic tasks (in any Grade) as well as appropriate school placement.
“Assisting a child during the crucial stages of their development may help them to grow into their full potential as adults. Intervention at a young age is the best possible gift”.
I have a Master’s degree in Educational Psychology from the University of the Witwatersrand. I also completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Education and am a qualified teacher. I taught Mathematics to primary school learners, which gave me a greater insight into the public education system. I completed my internship at a Non-profit organisation before going into private practice. Working at a Non-profit organisation allowed me to work with a wide range people which helped me better understand the needs of people.
