Counselling psychologists treat people dealing with normal life challenges, such as the loss of a job or divorce. They hold Master’s Degrees in Counselling Psychology and are registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa.
I am a registered Psychologist in private practice with offices in Hillcrest and in Westville. I work with adults (individuals, couples and groups), adolescents and children (assessment and therapy/play-therapy).
My way of working therapeutically values the uniqueness of every individual and aims to provide a non-judgemental, safe and relaxed space where clients can feel understood and feel free to express themselves. I am trained and have experience in various therapeutic frameworks and techniques (such as: Cognitive Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, Narrative Approaches, Solution focussed therapy, Strengths-based therapy and Psychodynamic and Client centred therapy) and tend to adapt my approach to the individual client and situation. I offer both short-term and long-term therapy, depending on the requirements of each client.
