Clinical psychologists treat people with relatively serious kinds of psychological distress, like depression or anxiety disorders. They hold Master’s Degrees in Clinical Psychology and are registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa.
I work as a Psychotherapist and Life Coach at a private practice in Pretoria.
I hold a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology and a PhD degree in Psychotherapy, both cum laude from the University of Pretoria.
My studies, qualifications, academic work and years of dealing with patients, together with my reading of inspirational thinkers, have all influenced me and provided me with an invaluable source of wisdom that I wish to share with others. I am committed to facilitating the personal growth of all individuals, whether adults, adolescents or children; empowering them to deal with the challenges they are faced with.
I attend to individuals, couples, families and groups, dealing with challenges of both a personal and interpersonal nature. I also cover personality disorders, psychiatric diagnoses (ICD10) and general life coaching needs.
My experience spans over three decades and my expertise pertains to dealing with trauma, anxiety, depression, self esteem, adaptive functioning, developmental and general life aspects.
The therapeutic approach that I use includes: CBT, Existential Humanistic, Psychodynamic, Systemic and TA. I believe in a face-to-face encounter, which may be either short-term or long-term.
My practice is based in Pretoria, but make consultation visits in Johannesburg as well. Besides my work as a Psychotherapist, I also serve as Supervisory Coach for other therapists.
I am a qualified Clinical Psychologist, registered with the Health and Professional Council of South Africa (HCPSA). I have worked in clinical, academic and professional settings while training students and serving on advisory boards and committees.
